Step into Moea Homestead, a living classroom where indigenous knowledge meets practical innovation. You will embark on a 2-hour tour with our knowledge guides through the various stations at Moea Homestead.

At the Soil Station, guests compare compost vs. bare plots, handle compost at different stages, and see how charged biochar and raised beds build fertility. Waste to value turns organic discards into compost. Dive into a 3 bin composting system and learn the breakdown in each stage.

In the Water Alley, underground piping feeds water drums and methods to slow runoff. Learn about rainfall indicators and planting calendars, and connect these insights to today’s erratic rains and erosion.

The Green House highlights indigenous and novel seedlings. Visitors learn about methods to grow strong seedlings.

At the Energy Corner, a solar off-grid demo illustrates trade-offs of cost, maintenance, and safety.

An Agroforestry Walk reveals layered plantings, fruit trees, nitrogen fixers, medicinal shrubs, and flowering strips that create microclimates, protect soil, and support pollinators.

The Micro-Enterprise Corner links practices to livelihoods from produce sales, seed sales, preserved goods, and small services.

The Homestead Tour costs M300 per person and M150 for children under 18. A 50% of the total is required as a non-refundable deposit to secure the booking.
​
Those interested are welcome to pick their own produce in 'Pick Your Own' activity. When combining the Homestead Tour with the Pick Your Own, the Pick Your Own entrance fee is waived.
Moea Homestead is cashless. The deposit can be made via EcoCash, Mpesa, Paypal, or Bank Transfer. Payment options at Moea Homestead include Point of Sale, EcoCash, Mpesa, Paypal, or Bank Transfer.
