School Trip
Moea Homestead is a living classroom and community hub in Metolong. We equip young people and educators with practical, culturally grounded skills to regenerate land and build viable green livelihoods. We integrate indigenous gardening practices with appropriate, low-cost technologies so learners can start and sustain productive micro-homesteads using resources at hand.
We provide a curated experience for primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. We are eager to work with educators to co-create lessons that complement the education curriculum.
Expected time varies based on the age group:
- Primary: 4 hours
- Secondary: 4 hours
- Tertiary: 6 hours
The chaperone-to-learner ratio is minimally as follows; however, we encourage more than the minimum to generate a robust experience:
- Primary: 1 chaperone to 8 learners
- Secondary: 1 chaperone to 10 learners
- Tertiary: 1 chaperone to 12 learners

The School Trips cost M50 per person for both students and chaperones. 50% of the total is required as a non-refundable deposit to secure the booking. This covers all fees, excluding transportation and lunch, which schools are expected to cover. A locally prepared lunch can be included for a M50 lunch fee.
Moea Homestead is cashless. The deposit can be made via EcoCash, Mpesa, Paypal, or Bank Transfer. Payment options at Moea Homestead include Point of Sale, EcoCash, Mpesa, Paypal, or Bank Transfer.
